On this week’s episode of The Jeff Robertson Show, I sat down with John Wildsmith, a fitness and lifestyle coach, content creator, and motivational speaker who has rebuilt his life from the ground up. John is a husband, a proud girl dad, and the founder of Wyldstyle Fit. His story is one of resilience, faith, and the power of discipline to create lasting change.
A Defining Moment
John’s turning point came at his daughter’s Daddy Daughter Dance in 2019. The year before, his father had to take her because John was incarcerated. When he finally got the chance to take her himself, he showed up high. Standing there with his little girl, realizing he was stealing that moment from her, John broke down. That night was his last relapse. It became the moment he chose recovery, growth, and purpose.
Unlearning and Rebuilding
After 15 years of meth addiction, John had to relearn everything. He had to rediscover how to live sober, how to be a husband, and how to be a father. His wife, who had endured years of chaos, had become fiercely independent. Coming back into her life meant rebuilding trust and restructuring their relationship. John admits it was not easy, but it was necessary. The process forced him to grow, redefine his identity, and take ownership of his role in his family.
Discipline Over Motivation
Today, John wins the day through structure. His mornings are non-negotiable: faith, fitness, and fueling his body right. Those small, consistent wins set the tone for his day. He no longer relies on motivation but leans on discipline and routine to stay aligned with his bigger purpose. For John, structure is not about restriction. It is about freedom.
The Mission of Wyldstyle Fit
John is building Wyldstyle Fit, a brand rooted in faith, fitness, mindset, community, and recovery. His mission is to show others that change is possible no matter how far they have fallen. He is also preparing to step into prison ministry, using his story to bring hope to those who are walking a path he knows all too well.
The Real Message
John carries a message that resonates deeply: redemption is real. Change is not just possible, it is within reach for anyone willing to make daily choices that align with a better future. His life is proof that the darkest chapters can lead to the most powerful testimonies.
